Monthly Archive for April, 2008

A quick message!

I have been on placement in Nottingham this week, which has meant about 4 hours travelling each day to get to school and back, not great!

Other than being on placement, I have been filling in what seems like endless job application forms and getting no responses back yet.

On the wedding side of things, we are at the list stage at the moment, making lots of lists of what needs doing and stuff like that, but all is good! I am going wedding dress shopping next week, I am very excited!!

Wedding Update

So, Kieran and I have been engaged for a week now and I am slowly getting used to it!

We have decided to get married quite soon, in just over 4 months actually!! The date is 23rd August 2008 so hopefully the weather will still be nice then. We thought this was the best time to get married, before I hopefully start a job as school terms start right at the beginning of September this year.

We went to York at the weekend and started planning with my parents. We have a date, church, vicar, reception venue, draft guest list and probably a car sorted already! I also know who my bridesmaids are going to be.

I’m really excited already and so far I like wedding planning, hehe!

Here is a photo of the church we are going to get married in!

My ring!

This is my ring!! It is very beautiful.

Engaged!!

Well, it was my birthday yesterday and I had an amazing day!!! I had to go to uni for most of the day, but I did go out for lunch with my friends which was nice.

After uni, me and Kieran drove to near Loughborough as we were collecting Ben his brother from uni.

On the way, we stopped off at a wood and climbed a hill and had a picnic which was very yummy! I was also finally allowed to open my other presents from my family as I had been waiting all day. By this point it was raining quite a bit and we ended up sitting on a bench sheltering under a big umbrella!

I was really cold and wanted to put my gloves on, but Kieran told me to wait for one more present….and that was when he asked me to marry him, in the pouring rain, on top of a hill and under an umbrella! He opened a box, and inside was a beautiful ring! By this stage I was completely surprised and didn’t quite know what to say, although i did say one word, yes!!!

The ring is lovely, and in his planning, Kieran used another one of my rings and measured it so its the right size too! He managed to plan the whole thing without me knowing as I just thought we were going for a birthday picnic before picking Ben up.

For the rest of the evening I forgot it was my birthday, what had happened was much more important, hehe!

I still can’t believe I am engaged and going to get married!!! It hasn’t properly sunk in yet I don’t think. It seemed just right to be proposed to in the rain too, after all, we did meet in a cow shed in the middle of a thunder storm!

So now I have my PGCE to finish, a job and house to find….and a wedding to plan!!

Site developments

I will slowly get this site looking more interesting and stuff. I am learning how to do some of the things to make it look better. I need Kieran’s help with some of it though, and he is busy doing uni work which is a lot more important so this will have to wait for now!

I’m starting uni again tomorrow. I am actually quite looking forward to it as I haven’t seen some of my friends since the end of January due to being on placement for 6 weeks and then 3 weeks of uni holidays. It means actually having to go home and get up at proper times again but I guess it is all working towards finishing the course. I can’t wait till the 4th July when I will be free from uni, yay!! :)

Shiny new website!

I felt it was time to move on so I now have this shiny new website, i hope you enjoy it!

The future!

I have just watched High School Musical 2 - its a great thing to watch if you want something predicatable and something that is easy to watch!

This film has the following quote:

“I always liked the future until I had to control it…”

I guess how that is how I am feeling now. I have always looked forward to whatever is going to happen in the future, but now the future is now and I don’t know what to do!

I know that I will hopefully qualify to be a teacher in July, but other then that I have no idea about anything else. I don’t know where I will live or work or anything really.

However, I have decided to look towards the future with a positive attitude! So much has happened in my life so far, and so much more can happen. So, even though I don’t have a job and will be one of the many many other new teachers looking for one, I am going to enjoy my future!!
