Here is a simple little test, which one of these pictures is me and which one is Miriam? I thought we looked pretty similar in these photo’s!

I watched the film Father of the Bride with my mum and dad tonight. Its a good weddingy film and made me even more excited as I thought about my wedding in just 37 days now!!
Mum and dad were nearly crying at the film, they said it was all sweet and emotional! I can tell they will be crying all day on 23rd August, even before anything has really happened!
We went to the hotel where the reception is going to be today and got some last things sorted which is great. So far all the separate things are coming together really well and I am confident that everything will come together ok on the big day! We have started thinking about the table plans the other day and trying to decide where to place people. Ah, decisions decisions!!
Also, my dress has been delivered to the wedding dress shop so I have a fitting on Monday, I am soo excited and I can’t wait to see it. I hope it still fits ok! Continue reading ‘Father of the Bride’
Last night I graduated for the second time! This time it was from Lincoln Cathedral which was a pretty cool place to graduate from!
I now officially have a PGCE, now all I need is a job so I can actually use the qualification. One will come along in the end i’m sure. I have an interview for supply teaching which would be better than nothing I guess. Continue reading ‘I’ve graduated again!’
I have done it, I got through my PGCE and I am now a Newly Qualified Teacher!!
I am now back home in York which is lovely and it will make sorting wedding stuff out in the next few weeks easier. It was strange to leave Lincoln yesterday. Although I have only been there a year, it was a home for a year and I will have loads of good memories from living there for the last year.
We went to church this morning, to hear our Banns of Marriage being read for the first time. Hearing them being read out in the church made the wedding seem even closer and more real!
One of the songs we sang in church today had the lyrics ‘…What a faithful God have I…’ and listening to the words made me think about how true that really is. This past year has been really mixed, some times when I have really not enjoyed the course and found it really hard and other times when it has been very fun and exciting. Through all the experiences of the past year one thing I know is that God has been faithful and things have worked out when they have needed to.
I’ll be taking the words of that song into the next days and weeks too. There is still a lot we need to get sorted - jobs, a house and various wedding stuff, but I know things will work out just as they are meant to and everything will be alright in the end!
For the next few weeks I’ll be in between here and Lincoln sorting various things out, and then it will be New Wine and I really hope it won’t rain as much as it has done this weekend!
Its only 48 days to go now till the wedding!!!! I can remember when I wrote on here that it was 100 days to go and that has gone sooo quick so i’m sure the next 6 weeks will speed by too!!
I can’t believe how fast time is going at the moment, sooo fast!!! Its already nearly July and we have had half the year!
I passed my final placement this week and have met all the standards and requirements I need to become a qualified teacher! I have 5 more days in school and one final day in college and then I will be finally done with my PGCE, yay!!! All I need now is a job as I still don’t have one but I am sure one will come up eventually somewhere.
I have really enjoyed this placement, teaching Year 6 after their SAT’s is lots of fun and most of the kids in the class are really nice and the challenging ones are good for helping me develop behaviour management strategies.
Time is also going really fast in the countdown to the wedding! I now have a special countdown on here in weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. Counting down to the second seems to make time go even quicker and in no time at all it will be the 23rd August and I will be getting married, I can’t wait
So, I finish here in Lincoln in a week and then I will be moving back home for the last time for the summer. We will also be going to New WIne which I am soo looking forward to, just as long as it isn’t as wet as last year, although it did make it more memorable! After New Wine it is 3 weeks until the wedding so it will be a busy but a very enjoyable summer and I am looking forward to it!
Right, bed time for me as I have a whole day of DT to teach tomorrow which should be interesting!
Well my big news for the week is that Kieran and I purchased our 1st car yesterday. Below is a photo that Kieran has taken of it.

Its a pretty cool car which does various exciting things! It has automatic headlights and windscreen wipers and a digital dashboard. It also has a cool handbrake which turns itself off when you start moving which is useful, good for hill-starts! I have driven it a couple of times and it is great to drive. It has a funny key thing where you put a card into a slot rather than a key into the car! Another great feature about it is that it has a height adjustable seat which means both me and Kieran can get it in a comfortable position when we drive it!
So there you go, that is our car and our first step to being properly married!!
Who is your hero?
Today Kieran was telling me who his hero is, and it got me thinking about who I would pick for my hero. It is actually a really hard to think of someone who I would class as my hero and to think of the reasons why a particular person would be a hero figure to me.
So I have been thinking about who I would choose, and I think I would have to pick two, my mum and dad! They have always been there for me, they have been great role models and they have taught me soo much over my life.
My parents have shown me what it means to have a wonderful happy family. They have lived in a way that shows faith, determination, courage and confidence - often when underneath it life may have been harder or more challenging then they have shown.
They have taught me what perseverance is, and how to enjoy life and what it gives you at that point in time. It is through them I have developed my love of travelling and experiencing new places and my desire to always find out more about the world. Continue reading ‘Who is your hero?’
I have had a very up and down day today and I am coming towards the end of it and I am shattered, because of how varied my emotions have been today.
Emotions are very strange things sometimes and on a day like today I really cannot understand them at all! At some points today I have been fine, getting along just like normal doing my work or whatever. At other times I have felt soo down that I don’t want to talk to anyone, don’t want to eat or do much in particular and then half an hour later i’ll be fine again. I’m finding it all very confusing!! Continue reading ‘Emotions’
I now have photo’s on here too, thanks Kieran ![]()
I am soo bored of lesson planning now! Ah well, only got 6 weeks of placement to get through then I’ll be done. It will be better when I actually have a job and don’t have to do loads of extra work just to keep college happy!
