Other news is that I am still jobless I have applied for loads now but so far I have got no-where. Ah well, all I can do is keep applying and evntually something will come up soon. I hope so as I am getting really bored filling in forms and not doing much else. I do help out at a local school for a couple of days a week and am on the supply teachers register here in York but have so far only done 2 days. Kieran does have a job though, just outsie York and he is enjoying it so far which is great.
So yeah, visit the new website, we will start to get it updated very soon!
Hello!!! Yep, I am Mrs Jones now and I like it lots and lots !
The wedding was amazing and we were soo lucky with the weather. It rained pretty much every day during the week before the wedding, and afterwards too. However, on the actual day it was lovely and sunny and didn’t rain at all! Everything went so well and to plan on the day and I enjoyed every minute of it! It was lovely to see so many of our friends and family there too, thank you to all of you who came and helped us celebrate our day!
We then went for our honeymoon which was lovely and relaxing. We went to a little farm in the middle of no-where - somewhere between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. We read lots, watched lots of films and went on lots of walks in the countryside. Continue reading ‘Mrs Jones!’
We went to Whitby today to celebrate my mum’s 50th birthday. When we set off it was all rainy and grey but by the time we got to Whitby it was reasonably sunny and bright!
While we were there we went to a really nice place to eat, a lovely place just by the harbour in Whitby. We then walked up 200 steps to the old abbey. When we were up there we got someone to take a family photo which i thought was really nice.
It is now less than a week till the wedding, and I am sooo excited!!! This week it will be fun to do all the last minute preparations. Kieran and Luke are coming up tomorrow so it will really feel that the build-up to the wedding has started when they get here! I can’t wait to see everyone at the weekend, its going to be great! In less than a week I will no longer be a Poulton, but i will be Mrs Jones (that sounds very strange!)
Good evening from York! I am back home after a really great 10 days away in which lots of things happened.
We had a great week at New Wine - as usual being on the cafe team was lots of fun and it was great to make some new friends. We had great waether most of the time, there was only one day of proper rain. (The day all the youth were out collecting money for charity, but that made it more fun!) The rest of the time it was lovely and warm and sunny, proper summer!
I think one of the highlights of New Wine was seeing young people so fired up and ready to connect with God, it was really encouraging to see people have so much faith and hope and it taught me a few lessons about my faith. Continue reading ‘New Wine’
Today it is exactly a month until Kieran and I get married!! The last 3 and a bit months since we got engaged has gone sooo quick so i’m sure the last month will go nice and fast too! I’m getting really excited, especially as all the plans are coming together well and I’m not feeling nervous (yet!).
Last night we finished the table seating plans, after quite a few versions and ideas! Doing the table plans was harder then I thought as there were loads of little changes we had to make along the way but they are all done now!
I had an interview for supply teaching in York today so hopefully i’ll be accepted onto the team and then when school starts again I’ll get some work. It all depends on whether Kieran gets a job first and whether that will be in Lincoln or not. We still don’t know where we will end up, but it will all become clear in the end.
Right, bed time for me as tomorrow I have to finish sorting out all the camping stuff for New Wine which starts on Friday and I’m very excited about it!!! The weather has been good this week so lets hope it continues!
I went to Leeds today for a fitting of my wedding dress and it is beautiful! The only thing that really needed altering was the length as it is too long at the moment. Other than that, it is lovely and it will be just great when it is all altered! I can’t wait to wear it properly on the big day which really isn’t long away now!!!
We also went to see a balloon lady as we are going to have balloons at the reception so it will look exciting in the room!
Other things for the wedding all seem to be coming together well, I just hope all the little parts of the organisation come together well on the day. I’m sure they will really.
Its New Wine in 4 days now and I’m sooo excited! The weather has been a bit better in the last couple of days so hopefully that will continue through next week when we are actually camping.
No news on the job hunt for me at the moment, something will come up at some point, somewhere but right now I don’t know!!!
I watched the film Father of the Bride with my mum and dad tonight. Its a good weddingy film and made me even more excited as I thought about my wedding in just 37 days now!!
Mum and dad were nearly crying at the film, they said it was all sweet and emotional! I can tell they will be crying all day on 23rd August, even before anything has really happened!
We went to the hotel where the reception is going to be today and got some last things sorted which is great. So far all the separate things are coming together really well and I am confident that everything will come together ok on the big day! We have started thinking about the table plans the other day and trying to decide where to place people. Ah, decisions decisions!!
Also, my dress has been delivered to the wedding dress shop so I have a fitting on Monday, I am soo excited and I can’t wait to see it. I hope it still fits ok! Continue reading ‘Father of the Bride’
Last night I graduated for the second time! This time it was from Lincoln Cathedral which was a pretty cool place to graduate from!
I now officially have a PGCE, now all I need is a job so I can actually use the qualification. One will come along in the end i’m sure. I have an interview for supply teaching which would be better than nothing I guess. Continue reading ‘I’ve graduated again!’
